Attend the Special Member Meeting and Vote on Our New Name and By-Laws

As  you may know, the ESA Board of Directors´ vote to sunset the association´s state chapter program has brought not only changes but great opportunities for our association.

The changes must be voted upon by members. A special meeting will be held where we can answer questions and you will have the opportunity to vote on our new name and new by-laws.

Mark your calendars and join us at the Central Regional Meeting.

Date: Thursday, October 17
Location: Galloping Hill Caterers in Union.

Even though this is a Central Regional Meeting, all members should attend with the opportunity to vote and share in this new beginning.

Vote on Our Association´s New Name!

We urge you to attend the NJESA special meeting where you will have a chance for your voice to be heard and vote on our new name and bylaws.
As you know, the ESA Board of Directors recently voted to sunset the association´s state chapter program. That means that ESA will now be separate from all the state chapters, including New Jersey.

That is why we have decided to change our name. It didn´t seem right to continue as the New Jersey Electronic Security Association (NJESA) since we are no longer connected to National. Recently the board came up with three choices. All members will have a chance to vote on the new name at this special meeting. Once the new name is voted on, we will then come up with a new logo. The three names are:

  • NJ Alarm Association
  • NJ Burglar and Fire Alarm Association
  • NJ Electronic Life Safety Association
Which one will it be? Every vote counts! Come to the special member meeting. You will decide and we will find out on October 17!

Southern Region Meeting Review
The Southern Region Meeting, sponsored by Hikvision, was held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel with a record attendance of over 40 people. At 3:30 pm a CEU class on Commercial Integration – TECES was given by Chris Smith of Interlogix and by 6:00 the actual meeting and dinner began. Attendees listened to past president Jerry Duffy speak on the new law that went into effect on May 1 and special guest speaker Detective Marie Frey of the Logan Township Police Department shared on Hostage Situations in the Workplace. Afterwards, attendees enjoyed a Cigar Bar, sponsored by Affiliated Central. A special incentive for southern region members is that the one who brings the most public safety personnel to the fall meeting will enjoy a complementary dinner during the meeting.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at ISC East! We had a great time in spite of the snowstorm. Held on November 15, during the Expo at Jacob Javits Center, we started off with a CEU class at 11 on Succession Planning by Bill Skinner that gave members an opportunity to add to their CEU credits. We then got together for a meeting and lunch at 1:00.
