NJESA is Offering Two NTS Courses
Level 1 Certified Alarm Technician Course
July 23 – 25, 2019 / 9:00am – 5:00pm

Location: Affiliated Monitoring, 2 Stahuber Avenue, Union, NJ 07083

Course Description: This 22-hour course presents an overview of the theory, installation and maintenance of alarm systems, basic electricity, standards, perimeter detection, space detection, fire systems, control panels, communications, CCTV, job planning, and false alarm prevention.

By the end of this course, students will have an understanding of the industry and their role within it, understand the importance of codes and standards and how to locate them and apply them, be able to define basic installation procedures, and compare the underlying technology behind the various security system tools and equipment.

Advanced Intrusion Systems Course
July 16-17, 2019 / 9:00am – 5:00pm

Course Description: This 14-hour course, followed by a two-hour examination, is an advanced look at the design and installation of intrusion systems. Students learn how to select and install proper equipment in a variety of intrusion system applications. The course provides basic electronics instruction and how it pertains to system design, component selection and troubleshooting, as well as information on system testing, commissioning and project management.

Advanced Intrusion Systems will provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to:

1. Select and apply sensors, control panels and communication devices to provide effective intrusion detection

2. Take technical knowledge and skills in intrusion detection to the next level, qualifying students for valuable advanced credentials

Cost is $250 per student – includes manual, breakfast and lunch

Required Training Classes
All NJESA classes have been approved by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs – Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Committee for credits of continuing education.

All New Jersey alarm dealers and installers are required to be licensed and renewed every three years.  For more information on renewal and new applicant CEU requirements, click here.

December Training Class Review
Our December training class, held on the 4th from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the ADI branch in Marlton was well attended. Course instructor John Drucker  offered four classes that provided members with 7 credits.

The courses included NJ Uniform Fire Code – 2015 IFC/NJ Update Primer; Strobes – Understanding Visual Notification: Supervising Station and Code Requirements; and Methods to Reduce False and Nuisance Fire Alarms.

Lunch was provided by the NJESA. Thanks again to ADI for sponsoring the training.
